Dr. Darrell Meece President dmeece@ivyacademychattanooga.com
Darrell Meece received his doctorate in Developmental Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Statistics, from Auburn University. Dr. Meece served on the faculty of the College of Human Ecology at Michigan State University for 8 years. For the past 12 years he has been a faculty member at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he is currently a Professor in the School of Education. Dr. Meece is a published author, and his research focuses on correlates of children's social development. He is particularly interested in inclusive outdoor education experiences. He has served as the chair of the Ivy Academy board of directors for the past 2 years.
Ethan Miller, CPA Treasurer emiller@ivyacademychattanooga.com
Ethan Miller is the treasurer for Ivy Academy. He is the Quality Control Partner for JHM. His responsibilities include overseeing the system of quality control for the accounting and auditing practice of the firm, including managing audit, review and compilation engagements, performing peer reviews, and planning and preparation in tax and management advisory services. He has extensive experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, mortgage lending, governmental, retail, wholesale, construction, school districts, employee benefit plans, HUD, and nonprofits. Mr. Miller is a 1995 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, a 1998 graduate from UTC with a Master of Business. He is a member of the AICPA Peer Review Board, the AICPA Peer Review Board’s Standards Task Force, the Peer Review Committee of the TSCPA, and a former member of the AICPA Technical Issues Committee.

Dr. Skates holds a doctorate in educational leadership and is a retired Hamilton County, TN educator. She has received numerous awards in education and civic service, among them National Academy Teacher of the Year, Tennessee Social Science Teacher of the Year, Award of Recognition for Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities, U.S. Army Civilian Award of Service, and Chattanooga Bar Award. Dr. Skates has served as the Hamilton County Social Studies Textbook Committee chair. Dr. Skates was the first woman elected to the Soddy-Daisy, TN City Commission and also served as Vice Mayor in the community.

Jerry Webb has taught vocational courses in Hamilton County high schools for 24 years, including Harrison Bay Vocational School (where he started the HVAC program), Tyner Academy’s HVAC/Engineering /Renewable Energy, and has been Central High School’s MEP Systems/Renewable Energy teacher for the past three years. In 2019, Mr. Webb was the Harbor Freight Tools Career and Technical Education Prize for Teaching Excellence award recipient. He received his education at Lincoln Memorial University, University of South Florida, University of Dayton (OH), Florida Solar Institute, and the University of Maine. Mr. Webb holds numerous certifications in engineering, solar and wind turbine technology, electronics, HVAC, and computer generated manufacturing, among others.

Lee Prichard is the principal manager at Edward Jones Financial in Soddy-Daisy. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lee University. He is involved in the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce and was VP of Membership from June 2017-2018 and VP of Economic Development from June 2018 to May 2019. He has worked with career counseling and has an interest in making sure that our next generation is equipped with the education and skills which will help them and our communities be the best they can be.

Ranger Daniel Basham received his Bachelor of Science of Agriculture from Tennessee Technological University in 2002, with an emphasis in agronomy and soils. He has worked for Tennessee State Parks since 2005 and is a public liaison for the park system through interpretation and interaction. In addition to being tasked with protecting and preserving state resources, Ranger Basham is charged with the safety of visitors and staff as safety and security officer. He holds various certifications from Green Leadership Academy, Peace Officer Standards and Training and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Evelyn Henderson spent most of her life in Northern Virginia, and earned a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Leadership from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. She has lived in Hixson, Tennessee with her husband and 2 children since March of 2020. Evelyn works as a Business Consultant Manager for Qualtrics, an experience management software company. She leads a team of 11 consultants who are responsible for configuring Qualtrics’ world-class customer feedback data analysis solution, creating reports to answer clients’ business questions, providing product training and enablement, and maintaining reporting artifacts in their clients’ environments. Evelyn’s personal hobbies include gardening, home improvement, crafting and interior decorating. She is also an active member in her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and enjoys spending time exploring nature with both of her children. She has served as the Ivy Academy Board of Directors Secretary since July of 2022.

Hugh Enicks served as a Lieutenant Colonel for the US Corps of Engineers for over 20 years. He has a plethora of experience with leadership and budgeting projects. After his army career, Enicks was a Senior Army Instructor for Redbank Highschool (2002-2019). There he worked with JROTC, Track , Cross Country, Oratorical and Robotics teams. He also taught financial wellness to students and helped them create partnership fundraisers. These successful fundraisers helped showcase first hand how hard work and dedication can be fruitful for students. We welcome his experience to the Ivy Board.

Otheller Turner is an Assistant Store Manager for Lowes, where he oversees professional contractor business accounts and Lumber/Building Materials. He has over 30 years of experience in retail management. Otheller was born and raised in Chattanooga, where he resides with his wife of 19 years. He has a passion for helping others and often looks for ways to encourage and promote success of others. He considers himself a foodie, loves new experiences, and enjoys traveling.

Sandy Pricer is a Chattanooga native. She attended Notre Dame High school, UTC, and earned her MSW through an online program with Campbellsville University. She and her husband, Joe, have been married for 20+ years and have 6 children. Three of their children are adopted from foster care which continues to fuel her passion for working with youth, especially those in the foster care program. Her family are active partitioners at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish.
Sandy is the CEO and founder of a nonprofit called RiseUP Cooperative, which provides life and leadership workshops to schools and agencies across the city. She is a contract foster care home study writer with Harmony Children Center and a certified foster parent trainer. Sandy also sits on the board of RiseUP as a non-voting member and as co-chair of Women United, a program of United Way.
Two of her 6 children attend Ivy Academy and she feels that the school is such a welcoming, supportive and amazing environment that she was honored to be asked to sit on the board and help the school in any way she could.
Advisory Board Members are past board members or employees who cannot vote, but who are still consulted because of the value their experience brings to the meeting. These are non-voting advisers.

General Session board meetings are held at Ivy at 6:30 PM, but the time occasionally changes according to school events and the availability of evening times for board members.
